A highly respected asset manager has partnered with Acre to appoint a newly created position, an ESG Investment Specialist to focus on ESG messaging strategy and implementation for all products. Based in London, this important new hire will have a global reach and impact.

As a long-term active manager across a mix of asset classes, our client is proud of its well-established commitment to being a responsible investor. They have invested in creating proprietary Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) investment tools, data and ways of capturing structured and unstructured ESG data. The ESG Investment Specialist will leverage these assets to enable clients to better understand at product and company level, how ESG is integrated into the investment process, stewardship and performance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing market leading ESG messaging for clients and increasing the firm's recognition of ESG performance in the marketplace

  • Responsibility for the strategy of enhancing ESG fluency across investment, distribution, sales and marketing functions

  • Leading the development of world-class ESG content and materials for communication externally and internally at both a product and firm level

  • Meeting with clients and prospect clients

  • Accountable for developing and delivering the firm's ESG reporting at the fund and company level, with the goal of developing pioneering ESG reporting capabilities

  • Developing reporting tools to illustrate how funds look through an ESG lens, with consideration of ESG outcomes and impact, the competitive landscape, and EU regulatory requirements

Competencies and experience sought:

  • An understanding of the sustainable investment/ESG landscape

  • A commercially orientated approach to ESG and sustainable development themes

  • The ability to gain business insight, develop strategy and maintain a client focus

  • Strong written and oral communication skills; effective with a diverse group of stakeholders

  • Quantitative skills and the ability to innovate and leverage data to establish narratives

  • The ability to influence and build relationships with a range of stakeholders
