We are working with a privately owned asset manager (AUM of $400bn+) to find an ESG Strategist to join its European ESG Investing team. Alongside the Head of Sustainable Investing for EMEA, this role will be working with investment teams across multiple asset classes in public and private markets, supporting with ESG integration, ESG and impact management and product development. The successful candidate will have significant exposure to the firm's portfolio managers and have an opportunity to influence firm strategy on sustainability and related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the deeper integration of ESG analysis into investment processes, which involves working directly with portfolio managers

  • Working with relevant teams to scope out new ESG and impact management tools and data requirements to support the investment process as well as meeting client and regulatory reporting demands

  • Collaborate with research and quantitative analysis to generate novel ESG insights and develop content and presentations to communicate these insights for internal and client-facing materials

  • Support the ongoing integration of sustainability driven regulation, maintaining an understanding of the changing regulatory landscape and the resulting implications

  • Work with investment and distribution teams on the continued evolution of new ESG and Impact product, and supporting European clients on customised product capabilities

  • Collaborate with the Client, Marketing, and RFP teams with timely and relevant ESG-related requests, including periodic client reporting, ESG investor diligence questions, annual UN PRI reporting, firm's annual ESG report, and ad hoc requests

  • Work in partnership with colleagues across the firm on projects to support the successful implementation of the firm's overall ESG and impact investing strategy

  • Execute the production of thought leadership, which involves research, critical thinking, and writing

Experience Sought:

  • Demonstrated experience in ESG investing, sustainability or impact investing and high proficiency in ESG and sustainability data, frameworks, reporting, and industry best practices

  • Demonstrated experience of investment processes which may have come from work experience in investment banking, investment management, sell-side research, or management consulting

  • Self-starter with strong analytical, organisational, writing, and project management skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including synthesising research and conceptual work into actionable and presentable deliverables

  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects in a collaborative manner with multiple stakeholders through to completion in a dynamic environment
