Take a moment to picture something. You've been the Global HR and Operations Director at Acre for 12 months, and you've had an impactful year. What does that look like to you?

The business you work for now has HR and operational strategies which tick along seamlessly in every part of the globe. Whatever region you walk into, your strategy has streamlined processes and procedures, things are compliant, risk is reduced, your expertise and creativity have been put to good use, and you've made a difference to your colleagues worldwide.

Those would all be great things to be proud of - and are all within reach at Acre. But what if you think bigger?

What if you could say that, because of your work, more organisations can cut carbon emissions, deliver a more inclusive society, finance essential infrastructure projects and create the innovative technologies required to build a more sustainable future for us all? Your work here helped Acre to go faster, which means that you're a part of the solution to the world's greatest challenges.

Now wouldn't that be truly impactful?

Our ambitions at Acre are driven by our collective impact. We want brighter futures for all; our clients, our candidates, society and the environment. We want a world that is sustainable, ethical and inclusive. We live our ambitions by specialising in finding sustainability-minded employees, for every role, in each department and skill set so that organisations can make the urgent changes we need to survive.

Founded in 2003, Acre is the global leader in sustainability and climate-focused Executive Search, Recruitment, and Talent Development. As the world wakes up to the challenge at hand, Acre is scaling at a rapid pace to support. We currently have 140 employees globally in London, New York, Amsterdam and Singapore - and have grown 400% since 2020.

This newly created role, reporting to the CEO, has been designed to support us in finding better ways of working as we grow. Day to day, you would be:

  • Driving impact and developing new strategies alongside the teams and functions you take care of across HR and Operations

  • Supporting strategic growth by putting the best processes and technology in place from inception to completion

  • Leveraging data & technology, such as HRIS, to improve processes and drive productivity and retention

  • Ensuring Acre is legally compliant in all areas of employment across each of our offices

  • Working alongside the Performance team to enhance employee engagement, including overseeing the global, companywide benefits programme

  • Acting as a key sponsor to and supporting day-to-day implementation of Acre's EDI goals, ambitions and strategy

  • Building relationships with your peers among the global senior leadership team, finding solutions which work both globally and locally and providing representation for your functions at board level

To be able to make an impact, we think you're likely to have:

  • Global experience in a business which is quickly scaling and changing. Acre has quadrupled in both revenue and headcount since 2020. As you'll know, this comes with operational and HR challenges, which you'll need to be comfortable owning.

  • A formal HR qualification, and a thorough understanding of employment law, tax and compliance across the regions we operate in. You don't need to be a walking rule book, but you'll need to know where and how to ask the right questions, so you can offer the right solutions.

  • The mindset of being an innovative, forward-thinking person who can create, consult and engage to develop a strategy, but also drive action and implement change. You'll be part of the Senior Leadership team, and being able to confidently engage your peers, and find solutions that work, will be key.

But this isn't an extensive list of must-haves. We're interested in you, your holistic experience, and everything outside of the lines that you know would make you brilliant at the job.

Before you apply, we'll just mention a couple of things:

  • We need great people to be part of the business and offer share options to those who can help us succeed -20% of Acre's equity is in the hands of our employees.

  • We work flexibly, so you'll have the scope to work around the things that are important to you at home.

  • As we scale, this role will be incremental to our success, and the opportunity for you to make impact is huge. We will set you up for success and invest in whatever it takes to allow you to be more efficient, leaving you more time to do what you do best.

So, do our ambitions align? Let's create change, together.
