The Global Innovation Manager sits within the Global Innovation team, whose purpose is to build the future of SHVE by enabling customer-centric solutions together with their ecosystem, while thinking big, starting small and going fast. The team works as an enabler for innovation, collaborating with different business units and global functions to structure and develop innovations in areas such as digital innovation, smart-cylinder, health & safety, new business models, and sustainable solutions etc.

SHVE is currently looking to intensify their outside-in perspective, by connecting with external networks (start-ups, academia, corporations, customers, etc.) to find new solutions for the current and future challenges. The goal is to gather insights (ex. customer behaviour and technology trends) to be able to anticipate changes and act accordingly, a work that should lead to identifying new opportunities that can be tested either centrally or in collaboration with other business units, using innovation methodologies.

The Global Innovation Manager is a key position to increase SHVE's capacity to innovate with external and internal input, as this function will, on one hand, manage the open innovation program interacting with colleagues from different business units and on the other, work in close collaboration with some global functions that are driving sustainable solutions (ex. sustainability, sustainable fuels, renewables solutions, etc).

Key responsibilities:

  • Define the open innovation strategy and future road map, and lead its implementation of actions

  • Lead SHVE's Global Open Innovation Program and Platform

  • Identify opportunities for innovation with external partners and define the best approach to test them

  • Interact with potential external partners, giving feedback and discussing proposals

  • Track progress of established collaboration with a view of monitoring the impact of selected solutions

  • Connect identified opportunities to global functions and business units

  • Collaborate with functions focused on developing sustainable solutions i.e., sustainable fuels and renewable solutions, while being the main partner when innovation expertise is required in those areas

  • For selected initiatives, especially the ones related to sustainable solutions; lead/support testing and validate, in collaboration with other functions and business units

  • Support business units and global functions on building open innovation capabilities

  • Build SHVE presence in innovation ecosystems of interest together with topic owners

  • Establish and lead the open innovation processes for SHVE, including KPI's and collaboration agreement frameworks

Key Skills and Experience:

  • 5-10 years of professional experience in innovation, including solid experience with Open Innovation

  • Experience working in sustainable development i.e., innovation on new products, services, or business models

  • Experience in working together with external collaborations and internal teams to test innovations

  • Proven track record of setting-up and delivering innovation projects

  • Experience in building and growing relationships in innovation ecosystems i.e., start-ups, academia, research intuitions, and sector associations, among others

  • Experience in gathering insights from customer behaviour and technology developments

  • Well-connected and up to date about trends related to sustainability

  • Expertise in innovation methodologies is desired, i.e., design thinking, lean start-up

  • Experience with corporate venturing and working in collaboration with start-ups is highly desired

  • Well organized, with strong process management and prioritization skills

  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking

  • Ability to build and use personal networks to link ideas and people that might otherwise not interact
