The purpose of the role is to develop an ambitious long-term Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and roadmap with impactful initiatives that will be integrated into the Group’s DNA and more specifically, in theOpCo'sstrategy and plans. This position will build on BME's commitment to being a responsible organization to all key stakeholders (direct & indirect) by supporting strategy and policies that protect and create value over time. The focus for this role will mainly be on Environmental expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create the overall ESG strategic plan and design ESG policies, with a clear focus on environmental improvement projects, and implement across the Group & OpCo's

  • Leverage the existing expertise of HR, Legal and Supply chain with regards to social and governance initiatives

  • Act as a strong driver in establishing data driven ESG goals, actions, milestones and metrics

  • Execute stakeholder management to support the improvement of ESG performance and risk management

  • Act as a thought leader and catalyst for change to help bring BME-Group to the next level in ESG

  • Contribute to the ESG strategy at all stages of the M&A process - pre-investment diligence, acquisition, monitoring/ownership and exit sale

Key Requirements/Experience sought:

  • Proven track record in spearheading and successfully executing environmental and sustainability initiatives in line with established ESG goals, ideally in a similar multi-stakeholder (distribution) environment with geographically spread OpCo's (not necessarily in a construction related industry)

  • Successful and proven track record in acting as a change agent, in ESG related topics

  • Broad business and technological acumen to integrate metrics on ESG performance into systems and data architecture

  • Highly organized and results-oriented with demonstrated experience managing cross-enterprise reporting processes

  • Experience with working in an international and matrix environment, fluent in English and ideally in German

  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
