Acre is delighted to be partnered with a FTSE 100 listed organisation operating in the transport sector in their search for a Group Environment Lead. Reporting to the Group Director of Corporate Responsibility, this individual will be responsible developing and driving the environmental strategy across the Group and its global operating businesses.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Spearhead the Group's environmental strategy, as well as contributing to the Group's wider corporate responsibility strategy.

  • Monitor and evaluate the Group's environmental sustainability performance, analysing trends and communicating these to senior stakeholders and investors.

  • Manage compliance with the Group's regulatory energy and environmental obligations including the Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) Regulations.

  • Lead on the Group's mandatory Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reporting.

  • Stay at the forefront of relevant legislation, assessing the impact of policy and regulatory developments and recommending, communicating and implementing strategies to ensure Group compliance in relation to carbon and air emissions.

  • Provide expert support on environmental incidents where escalation has been required.

Other Profile Specifications:

  • Effective stakeholder engagement skills, including capacity to influence senior stakeholders and drive through an agenda.

  • Independent working style with an eye for quality and detail, particularly working with data relevant to carbon and climate.

  • Educated to degree level in an environmental discipline.

  • Demonstrable experience of environmental management in a large, complex organisation.

  • Exemplary understanding of ESG reporting, benchmarking and assurance standards.

  • Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
