Holcim, the world's global leader in innovative and sustainable building materials is looking to appoint a leader to drive forward their global health and hygiene programme.

This is a highly influential role within the business, which presents the opportunity to have a significant impact across Holcim's 70,000 employees and 70 markets.

Sitting within the Corporate HSE function at Holcim head office, the Group Head of Health & Hygiene will be an industrial hygienist by background and will be able to build and implement global health programmes. Additionally, they will be charged with ensuring different countries in which Holcim are adhering and performing at high HSE standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development of risk-based industrial hygiene programmes across the Group and supporting their implementation

  • Capitalising on health & hygiene expertise by having a deep knowledge and understanding of the subject and intervening to provide advice on any related questions and issues

  • Leading the development of health standards, guidelines and good practices and highlighting emerging health & hygiene risks

  • Developing and delivering training in IH management and leading on IH data management

  • Serving as the first point of contact for the local Head of HSE in-country operating companies regarding group standards, systems and processes and keeping track of the progress of the local HSE Improvement Plan in the country

  • Reviewing incident reporting and investigating fatalities and supporting countries in any Critical Incident Investigation, ensuring appropriate communication of learnings and that consequence management and action plans are followed up

  • Benchmark with other multinationals to maintain a world-class health & hygiene program and, as part of the continuous improvement process, participate in the review of Standards, Guidelines and Good Practices

This person will have:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree and Certified Industrial Hygienist or equivalent certification

  • Significant experience in a global or regional Industrial Hygiene role that has required strong influencing, leadership and change management skills

  • 5-10 years of leadership experience in the industry

  • Strong skills in influencing, managing conflicts, communication, networking and change management

  • Analytical skills and ability to report and data manage

  • Operational experience in high-risk industries is preferred
