Acre are delighted to partner with a leading global luxury goods company, supporting the organisation with articulating and delivering a vision for sustainable luxury. As part of their agenda to further embed and operationalise sustainability, we are looking for a Head of Biodiversity and Climate to deliver on a strategy ensuring the organisation's bold science based commitments for climate are met and that impacts on biodiversity and natural capital are assessed, measured and reduced.

As a key figure in the Global Sustainability team, you will play the role of being an expert in climate and natural capital impacts for regional and divisional teams across the organization, building up internal expertise and competencies. Additionally you will represent the organisation externally, articulating the business position on these issues, and engaging with other thought leaders to help drive private sector moibilisation in accordance with the Paris Climate Accord.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing climate strategy through work with operational teams and regions to analyse and drive reductions in line with SBTs for scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.

  • Define, drive and evaluate organizational strategy on biodiversity and water along the value chain

  • Driving transition to 100% renewable energy for electricity use in manufacturing, logistics, boutiques and other retail locations

  • Contribute and translate technical expertise within international working groups designing corporate approaches to management of emissions in line with science, and managing biodiversity and water impacts. e.g. WRI, CDP, We Mean Business

Requirements include:

  • Track record in designing and supporting delivery of climate strategies, either in house where this is central to broader strategy, or service side

  • Expertise in biodiversity and natural capital impact measurement, assessment and mitigation

  • Background in Environmental Engineering or other technical post-graduate degree in climate or natural capital topics

  • Understanding and prior exposure to relevant international stakeholder networks and initiatives surrounding climate and biodiversity

  • Very strong relationship and engagement skills; flexible to change with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels

  • Intermediate level French required
