Our client is seeking a Head of Biomass Strategy to bring experience from a high-impact international business setting (think forestry, mining, oil & gas or agriculture) to help them develop their biomass and viable fuels portfolio to deliver against the growth of their strategic and sustainability ambitions.

​

In this role, you will:

  • Create strategic plans, identify new opportunities and innovate around ways of working that will address long-term operating solutions for this business.

  • Originate a robust and diversified portfolio of viable fuel (such as biomass) supply chain opportunities.

  • Lead on supply chain origination activity, including potential fibre off take agreements, joint ventures and direct investments.

  • Develop Upstream Strategy for securing, de-risking and capturing value from long term fibre

  • Define strategy for entry into new geographies or new business areas and manage these new projects and approaches for the business.

  • You will be responsible for your own development budget and will lead a small team of specialists. As a strong collaborator and relationship builder, you will leverage your experience in building cross-functional virtual teams and managing internal and external stakeholders.

You will join a pioneering and agile team, bringing the experience of:

  • Strategy, M&A, business development or large business projects; able to take projects from initial ideas and concepts through to execution.

  • A strong commercial focus with the ability and critical thinking to judge the value of an opportunity.

  • A resilient mindset and ability to adapt to ever-changing directions; able to keep an open mind and bounce back quickly and move on if an idea does not become a concept for development.
