Acre is working with a leading carbon markets solutions provider to help them hire a Head of Carbon Pricing and Markets. They are one of the largest players in carbon markets and are widely recognised for developing high-quality carbon projects around the globe, helping clients offset emissions they can't reduce. Reporting into the Chief Commercial Officer, you will provide thought leadership for the firm while producing high quality sector research reports and analysis for their customers.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building the house view and producing research on all types of carbon and other environmental credits

  • Assessing new models including tokenised credits and their valuation

  • Building understanding of novel instruments in climate related markets, for example biodiversity credits

  • Working closely with commercial teams to leverage relationships with trading houses and investors to deepen understanding of future pricing trends

  • Monitoring and engaging with platforms and exchanges

  • Supporting the commercial team in returns assessment and risk analysis

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of producing high quality economic research, pricing forecasts and sector outlooks, creating compelling commentary and narrative from data analysis

  • Experience in carbon markets analysis will be highly beneficial but is not a must-have

  • Ability to take ownership and initiative to produce insightful research and commercial solutions

This is a unique role which gives you the opportunity to work within the commercial team of a leading carbon markets player and transition into a commercial role. You will be working very closely with the senior leadership of the firm in a high visibility role.
