Acre has been retained to appoint a Head of Corporate Governance for the EMEA region of one of the world's largest asset managers with an active and long-term commitment across their global equity funds and across the fixed income and mutual fund strategies.
This appointment will lead the team to achieve and excel in their stewardship ambitions involving engaging with corporate issuers on governance issues, facilitating the proxy voting process, and owning and enhancing the governance principles and voting policy.
Important for success in this appointment is the ability to mentor and coach the team of Corporate Governance Analysts to excel, including identifying and providing challenging development opportunities.
Responsibilities also include:
Working closely with investment colleagues to evolve the stewardship strategy and contributing to the further integration of Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) into investment decisions
Building a continuous improvement mindset within the team to enhance processes locally and globally
Managing relationships with external partners, governance organisations and industry associations either directly or through the team
Manages the function for sustainable growth, and leads the changes needed to deliver superior results and services over the long-term
Models the firm's core values and thoughtfully enhances the working culture to reinforce what makes our client a unique and special place to work
Experience sought:
Extensive experience in Corporate Governance in an investment management context
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Previous management experience or demonstrable track record of leading projects, mentoring, or leading and coordinating the work of peers
