Are you highly experienced in ethical trade but have witnessed your programme, budget or team shrink during the pandemic, despite the increased need for care towards the health and wellbeing of communities in supply chains?

We're working with a high impact, global retailer who though heavily impacted by the pandemic have continued scaling their 120 strong ethical trade and environmental sustainability function.

Reporting to the Director of Ethical Trade and Environmental Sustainability - Operations, the Head of Ethical Trade - Central Support is a key hire ensuring the integrity and successful delivery of their highly impactful global programme, working with key stakeholders internally and externally to the business.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Heavily contribute to global ethical trade policies and their implementation

  • Manage a team of 5 to centrally support delivery of the global ethical trade programme

  • Build and maintain a 'one team' operating philosophy with the commercial teams, acting as the first point of contact for queries regarding monitoring programme implementation

  • Engage and develop relationships with third party providers and external rating agencies to enable delivery of the programme

  • Manage the central support function to ensure accuracy, speed and efficiency of internal reporting for the business

You will be:

  • Experienced in managing ethical trade programmes with in country exposure

  • Tenacious and focused in execution of actions to meet business goals, following through on own commitments and energising others

  • Able to attract, develop, engage and retain talent to build organisational capability

  • Experienced with a variety of complex supply chain issues

  • Motivated by optimising work processes, relentlessly delivering the most effective and efficient processes to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement.
