Are you looking to join an organisation where positive health, safety & wellbeing culture underpins everything they do? Does your organisation care more about following rules than innovation?

This business, one of the world's largest construction groups, knows that people and behaviours are the keys to delivering a safe and sustainable future for its employees and supply chain.

The leadership team is looking for someone like you to be the face of Health, Safety & Environment for the organisation, helping to create and embed strategy, as well as coaching, developing and upskilling a large team of HS&E specialists. Whilst reporting to the Operations Director day-to-day, you will also have an indirect line to the Group HS&E Director, who will support you with strategy development and your own personal progression.

You'll be:

  • A confident and experienced leader - you'll be responsible for developing and then driving a people-focused health, safety & wellbeing strategy across the organisation, which will enable a long-term positive culture across all projects and developments.

  • Passionate about people - you'll be responsible for leading, motivating and developing the health, safety & wellbeing team, ensuring high performance and achieving ambitious goals.

  • Organised and able to prioritise - your skills and experience will be in high demand, so it's imperative that you are able to work with both autonomy and efficiency, choosing carefully which projects to prioritise at a given time.

In terms of experience:

  • It's important that you have previous health & safety leadership experience within either the construction, infrastructure, utilities or power generation sectors.

  • It's vital that you have led and coached a team in a prior role.

  • If you can demonstrate that you can build meaningful relationships from site level to board room, that will go a long way

You can be based anywhere from the south coast to the midlands, as long as you're willing to travel across the UK to both sites and regional offices. This is a hybrid role, meaning 2-3 days per week working from home. In return for your skills and expertise, you will be met with a competitive salary of up to £85,000, a car allowance and a discretionary bonus.
