The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious global environment prize in history, designed to incentivise change and help repair our planet over the next ten years. The Earthshot Prize is seeking a Head of Nominations Strategy who will lead the global search and rigorous selection of environmental solutions with the potential to win one of 5 annual Earthshot Prize Awards.

The successful candidate will drive the ongoing discovery of solutions around the world, building a diverse and representative network of Nominators, leveraging technology and data to fuel the front end of TEP's search engine. You will partner with experts, academia and partners to set the annual Selection Priorities and Guidelines that will be made public.

You will drive year-round interest and excitement about the potential of becoming a nominee for The Earthshot Prize by partnering with the communications, digital, and marketing teams and engaging in the high-level forum to inspire and engage with future nominees and nominators. Throughout it all, you will champion diversity, inclusion and representation as a core value of the Prize's search and selection approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight and Management of The Earthshot Prize nomination & assessment process, delivering the quantity and quality of nominees each year

  • Nurture and build out a growing, diverse, global Nominator network, creating value add for the Nominators and building a community worldwide

  • Work with TEP's nominators to ensure the solutions pipeline is increasingly diverse, high quality, and captures as many potential eco-solutions/eco innovators as possible.

  • Champion an engagement campaign in partnership with our Communications and Engagement team to galvanise excitement and interest throughout the calendar year at key events and forums and through academic research and thought pieces

  • You will work with TEP's technology team and partners to leverage AI, data, analysis, and research in order to inform decisions and ways of working, as well as content and insights

  • You will work with our Storytelling team to garner media and public interest in our Call for Nominations annually, our Selection Priorities, our Nominators and our Prize Council Members

  • You will strategically represent The Earthshot Prize in key public forums with the goal of increasing the quantity and quality of our Nominations annually

Skills Required

  • You will demonstrate a deep understanding and experience in climate change and sustainability issues and the role that innovation can play in accelerating progress towards climate change targets across public, private, academic, not-for-profit, government, city, and other sectors

  • You have proven strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to work with a variety of different stakeholders, and you're known as a team player, collaborative, open and committed to the success of the team.

  • You have run the vetting process of an innovation function in a corporation, accelerator, or venture firm; and/or you have run the front-end search and selection process of a global Prize

  • You are digitally savvy and/or a digital native with experience of working with technology and/or data analysts.

  • You have experience of working with and in different continents

  • An understanding of lean start-up and human-centred design Experience working with our wider stakeholder groups would be a bonus: NGOs, Large Business, Philanthropists, Government entities and VVIPs
