Acre has partnered with a fast-growth and well financed Asset Manager in the Toronto Metro area as it seeks a strong Head of Responsible Investment (RI) to develop a forward thinking ESG approach and implement it across its products, processes and policies.

Serving as a key member of its senior management team, you will develop the Responsible Investment approach and drive the full integration of ESG across all asset classes, as well as build an RI team and function.

You will partner with key executives in developing a forward thinking vision and implementation plan, collaborate with the CIO and key PM's in developing a greater understanding of ESG themes for the investment teams, at both a macro and micro level, and support key product development and client communication and management efforts.

You will bolster the group's stewardship approach, collaborate with peers and work to position the firm as a key and genuine thought leader in the field.

Essential in your background is:

  • A sound understanding of the investment process and capital markets (investment experience and CFA credentials preferred).

  • Thorough knowledge of major asset classes.

  • A strong and successful track record in the field of responsible investment and/or sustainability.

  • The ability to build consensus across key stakeholders and influence across all levels.

  • Strong technical understanding of key ESG themes, alongside the ability to distill this information comprehensively.

  • The appetite to build a best in class Responsible Investment approach and grow a leading investment management group in a fast paced setting.
