Acre are pleased to support the world's largest restaurant group in their search for a Head of Sustainability; to set the agenda, implement and embed a holistic sustainability strategy into the organisation's DNA.

The Head of Sustainability will influence and deliver significant business change, championing sustainable capitalism whilst being pragmatic about what's achievable. You will be exposed to members of the senior leadership team who are passionate and understand the importance of this change.

With 2 direct reports, you will be leading a small team to push the organisation cross-functionally towards ambitious targets around sourcing & welfare, environment, community engagement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Shaping and delivering the sustainability strategy across UK and Ireland, leading the way for other markets

  • Creating operational metrics, tracking and managing delivery timelines and communicating progress to internal stakeholders

  • Owning and fortifying relationships with NGOs, thinktanks, trade associations

  • Championing sustainability and leveraging internal support structures to drive change cross-functionally

Requirements include:

  • Experience in implementing sustainability programmes for food and beverage businesses in house or in consultancy

  • Technical knowledge on topics such as packaging, waste, energy and natural resources, as well as responsible sourcing

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Gravitas and a strategic thinker, with the ability to engage and influence senior leaders

  • A self-starter who over-indexes on ownership and accountability, willing to be hands-on and operational
