Acre has been engaged on an exclusive basis by an FTSE listed European property investment group to identify their new Head of Sustainability. Reporting into the COO, you'll be tasked with leading and delivering their sustainability strategy and driving transformational change across their European portfolio.
This exciting, high-profile position will offer a successful candidate the opportunity to work across a property portfolio valued at over £2bn. The Head of Sustainability will play a crucial role in leading the practical delivery of their strategy, being a trusted advisor to the business, managing and upskilling the other two members of the sustainability team and developing close, collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders at all levels across the business.
Some Responsibilities:
Reporting (with the support of a Sustainability Data Analyst)
Ensure compliance with all EU/UK environmental statutory reporting obligations
Manage and co-ordinate reporting submissions including GRESB, REEB Benchmarking, ESOS (and EU equivalents) and others
Identify and calibrate KPIs in line with the Sustainability Strategy and Net Zero Carbon Pathway
Implementation of sustainability initiatives (with the support of an ESG Manager)
Pro-actively develop and execute strategies to address issues such as energy use, climate change, resource conservation, recycling, pollution reduction, waste elimination, transportation, wellbeing, and building design
Identify and advise Property Teams on how to deliver renewable energy generation across their portfolio
Identify and implement initiatives for energy and maintenance savings, via investment or behavioural change
Present any investment case for any sustainability initiatives to the Board, making reasoned projections of their impact
Negotiation of ESG-linked loan terms with prospective lenders, forecasting performance against ESG targets
Collaboration with other functions and Clients
Preparation of annual OPEX and CAPEX sustainability budgets
Collaborate with the various departments to develop a coordinated sustainability plan which incorporates sustainability principles into both short and long-range planning and initiatives
Work closely with the Head of UK and Head of Property Management to determine practical ways of delivering against core KPIs
Partner with the Heads of Country in France and Germany to roll out Group-wide initiatives
Offer tenants support in achieving a reduction in costs, energy consumption and carbon emissions while in occupation of any of their asset in the group
