The Role
The Head of Sustainability will report to the CFO and will work in close collaboration with C-Suite and the wider leadership team to set the sustainability strategy for the organisation across the UK and US businesses.
Responsibilities:
Working across our UK and US businesses, The Head of Sustainability will be responsible for the following:
Working closely with each of the businesses to develop their narrative on their key outcomes, areas for society, payors and patients and developing the key measures to demonstrate leadership
Establishing and leading engagement across ESG topics with internal and external stakeholders, including our key investor
Help the business align on key objectives, metrics, ways of working, and sharing best practices to drive sustainability
Ensuring that the business adheres to their investors' financial disclosure requirements and ensure that they implement the relevant policies and processes that need to be in place as a result
Establishing an effective Sustainability & ESG framework which will enable effective reporting and communications on sustainability in line with their stakeholders' expectations across our two geographies, cultures and regulatory requirements
Scoping and embedding valuable tools and building relationships with relevant external stakeholders to ensure the businesses can report effectively across key ESG themes and respond to appropriate non-financial disclosures across the environmental, social and governance dimensions

Skills and Experience
Bring a track record of working with the C-suite and Investor Relations on Sustainability Strategies and ESG reporting
Have experience and bring a strong understanding of developing sustainability strategies, ESG reporting and the regulatory framework within an international corporate setting; we are especially interested in UK and US experience
Have an understanding of the role of a Head Sustainability in a fast-growing environment
Be a natural relationship builder, highly capable of influencing and upskilling executive teams
Be able to drive a roadmap against strategic goals and KPIs at pace
Be a fast learner and able to adapt quickly to changes in regulatory requirements and ESG policies
Demonstrate resilience under pressure and have the ability to bring people with you in a subject that is unfamiliar to them or seems unrelated to their day-to-day activities
You will be used to working on multiple projects and influencing at all levels
Most likely have experience in healthcare or related sectors with an interest in advanced therapy medicinal products and the impact that they have on society
The role will be based at Edinburgh BioQuarter, which acts as a hub for Scottish Life Science with close links to the University and the Royal Infirmary. Some travel to the US may be required.
