Acre is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading real estate investment and development business to identity their new Head of Sustainability. In this newly created role, you will report to the CFO and have the responsibility for leading all sustainability activities. This will include the strategic development and implementation of policies, meeting ESG compliance requirements, data collection and analysis, reporting and submission to external benchmarks.

Some key responsibilities will include:

  • Thought leadership across the full range of sustainability and ESG issues, using a data-driven approach to provide guidance to the Sustainability Committees

  • The identification of performance indicators and targets for all divisions to support and deliver against sustainability objectives

  • Development of policies and documentation including liaising with or providing direction to those tasked with policy-writing

  • Measuring performance against the above performance indicators, targets and objectives, reporting performance externally and in the the annual report and any standalone reports

  • Advise project management teams on energy/ sustainability design issues (for example, in relation to Building Regulations and 3rd party certification schemes such as BREEAM, HQM and WELL)

  • Working closely with managing agents, the technology team, facilities management, and asset managers to ensure that data from buildings is understood and ensure that proposed measures are implemented to improve performance of assets.

You will bring a market leading network to ensure that their approach to sustainability remains at the cutting edge, realising its full potential and adding value to all.

You will also have the following attributes:

  • A degree or professional equivalent in a technical subject, preferably relating to the built environment, but could also include environmental science

  • Proven experience in a leading Sustainability Management position in the property sector is preferable although other sector experience will be considered

  • Good knowledge of current and emerging sustainability trends across the full remit of sustainability and ESG issues

  • You will also need to demonstrate the ability to drive change, develop and deliver a strategy and influence at board level
