We are working with a $10bn alternative asset manager to hire its first Head of Sustainable Finance Strategy and Markets. Using their in-depth knowledge of climate & energy transition focused capital market participants, the successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading new solutions across the fund as it seeks to diversify its capital base and evolve the overall investment strategy.

Currently, their climate solutions team work with companies and investors focused on scaling capacity in regenerative agriculture, climate resilience, renewable energy and natural capital solutions, globally. The team offers clients a flexible approach that allows for efficient use of capital, ensuring a balanced view between our overall investment strategy, the market conditions, and investor appetite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategy in partnership with the CEO with a focus on influencing sustainability focused market solutions for a wide range of global clients.

  • Lead the firms strategic thinking on market trends, economic, climate and other ESG signals to determine impact to the overall investment strategy.

  • Shaping and influencing innovative market solutions across the business with oversight of a small team of investment professionals.

  • Leading the identification and early assessment of investment opportunities, driving new product development to create bespoke solutions for clients

  • Develop and manage pre-existing institutional market relationships for climate and sustainability-focused structured finance solutions.

  • Report into the Investment Committee for the firm demonstrating continued growth and innovation.

  • Contribute to the firmwide sustainability efforts.

Experience Sought:

  • 10 years+ of progressive and directly relevant financial markets experience with a strong understanding of investment strategy, institutional relationship management, risk management techniques, product development and portfolio construction.

  • Experience in Climate, Sustainable Finance, and/or Impact investing with specific applications to environmentally focused, sustainability linked, products and how they feed into capital and structuring initiatives.

  • An experienced, imaginative problem-solver with the mentality to drive disruptive innovation in the industry.

  • Experience and EQ to manage and develop a small team of Climate investment professionals.
