We are working with a $10bn alternative asset manager looking to hire a Head of Origination for its new Climate business. The firm has a 20-year legacy in the catastrophe and climate reinsurance markets, creating innovative solutions to address risk transfer challenges that corporates increasingly face. As climate change and sustainability become an increasing focus, the newly established climate team is well-positioned and supported to create investment opportunities that deliver an impact positive investment through designing innovative sustainability-focused insurance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand market trends, economic, climate, and other sustainability signals to identify gaps in the market

  • Build and leverage relationships with brokers and counterparties; represent the business in the market

  • Source climate risk transfer deals; ensuring optimal execution on presented risk opportunities

  • Provides strategic direction to the investment committee process; providing materials that allow for efficient and effective decision making

  • Act as the commercial driver across the team to help proactively develop products that can support the needs of counterparties and improve the portfolios the business manages

Experience Sought:

  • 10 years+ of progressive and directly relevant financial markets experience with a strong understanding of investment strategy, product development and delivering a long-term, consultative sales approach

  • An experienced, imaginative problem-solver with the mentality to drive disruptive innovation in the industry

  • Experience and EQ to manage and develop a small team of Climate investment professionals

  • Experience in an MGA or specialist insurer who has had access to alternative forms of risk is particularly desirable
