Acre is working closely with a global construction and civil engineering organisation whose projects span rail, highways, energy and critical infrastructure. Working on a challenging but innovative £100m+ natural gas project, our client is looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager to oversee performance on a business-critical project. This will see you engaging with subcontractors and challenging traditional methods with the goal of continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety & Well-being, this represents an opportunity to join an organisation that prides itself on ensuring exceptional standards on some of the UK's largest projects.

As Health and Safety Manager, you will:

  • Introduce new initiatives and consistently review standards to improve health and safety performance

  • Act as a leader, ensuring those that require learning and development are supported

  • Influence and empower project and supply chain leaders to shape and implement robust plans that drive performance improvements

  • Support the business with regard to tenders and pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs)

  • Work with the supply chain to establish effective relationships and ensure continuous development is achieved

  • Lead meetings with the delivery team and subcontractors to promote health and safety

To excel in the role, you'll bring:

  • Health & Safety experience within the infrastructure, construction, civil engineering, energy or M&E sectors

  • The ability to lead at both a strategic and operational level

  • Track record of successfully supporting the implementation of a cultural and behaviour change programme

  • Ambitious and results-driven approach, with a strong desire to exceed expectations both internally and externally

  • A highly engaging and compelling communication style with a proven ability to win hearts and minds at all levels within an organisation
