We are working with a top tier globally focused and independent boutique investment firm, which manages strategies that generate measurable sustainable returns.

They have a mission to catalyse scalable investments into sustainable and inclusive production in agri-commodity value chains that are linked to forest protection.

They are looking for an Impact Director (Investor Relations) based in the Netherlands to manage their engagement with investors and lead fundraising on existing and new strategies.

This person will report directly in to the ExCo, and work closely with the founder and CIO of the business.

Key responsibilities:

Capital Raising

  • The main focus is leading the raising of the required further patient capital. This includes governments, multilateral (GCF, GEF, etc), US and European foundations and family offices, strategic corporates, and institutional private sector investors.

  • Lead fundraising approach for all new strategies.

  • Work with senior management in analysing market demand for all new strategies being discussed, including proposing own strategies that would respond to investor demand.

Investor Relations

  • Responsible for existing investor relationships and management of all queries.

  • Responsible for all reporting to existing investors, including leading on report writing, communication strategies towards investors, event management, etc.

  • Responsible for necessary marketing approach towards current and potential investors.

Key requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in the investment management or climate change space, with complementary technical skills.

  • At least 5 years' experience in a fundraising, business development, or investor relations role with a good understanding of the market and relevant actors.

  • Experience raising funds from both private and public sector investors is preferred.

  • Able to operate at a Master-degree level minimum, with a deep technical knowledge of sustainability and climate-related science preferred.

  • Fluency in English is a prerequisite. Knowledge of further global languages (French, Spanish, etc) is beneficial.

  • Experience working on the ground in developing countries is nice to have.

  • Curiosity, combined with a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset that can take responsibility for projects.

  • Strong analytical capabilities, able to arrive at well-considered opinions and set priorities for action.

  • Innovation skills and pragmatism to create synergies between SAL's strategy and that of potential and existing investors.

  • Project & process management skills, team player with an understanding of diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including intercultural negotiation and presentation skills to a diverse set of stakeholders.
