​Values based investing is an important component in the Anthos Fund & Asset Management (AFAM)'s investment philosophy and forms an indistinguishable part of its DNA through its history, present and longer-term aspirations. Skopos II is the recently (early 2019) launched, €100mln, PE Impact Investing Growth Equity/Late Stage VC, Lower Mid-Market fund managed by the Impact Investing team of Skopos.

AFAM provides asset management and investment advisory services to institutional clients, investing in a wide range of asset classes worldwide. AFAM aspires to be positioned at the forefront of values based investing developments, both as AFAM overall as well as for each asset class relative to its industry, while aiming for superior risk- weighted returns for its wide array of asset-classes and investment strategies.

This analyst role will support the Skopos Fund investment managers, predominantly for the direct investments but also on the monitoring and reporting of the legacy fund portfolio. The Analyst will be part of the Investment Analytical Services (IAS) department reporting to the Head of IAS with a dotted line to the Head of the Skopos team. In addition to their impact investing responsibilities, the analyst will contribute to the joint research efforts of IAS and share insights from experience gained working on the Skopos portfolios.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Direct Investments:

  • Interface on a daily basis with Managing Directors and portfolio company CEO's, CFO's and Board of Directors members, providing business related analysis and guidance

  • Evaluate inbound investment solicitations and fit with investment mandates

  • Populate and manage pipeline

  • Extensive financial modelling including sensitivity analysis to support potential investment opportunities

  • Provide business & financial evaluation of investment opportunities including review of company business plans, project documents such as power purchase agreements, steam agreements, fuel contracts, and financing agreements

  • Provide ongoing monitoring of assets with the firm's portfolios

Portfolio analysis

  • Proactively provide the portfolio managers with analyses and advice on the financial and social performance of the investments and managed portfolios.

  • Analyze various portfolio characteristics, such as concentration limits, costs, covenants & policies, allocations across regions and sub-asset classes.

  • Provide insights into risk and performance metrics across both financial and impact dimensions.

  • Maintain/further develop/distribute key management information and client reports.

  • Coordinate and check information with back office colleagues to ensure no errors.

Experiences Sought:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in either the financial services industry in an analytical role with demonstrable experience of working within/for front office teams.

  • Strong command of MS Office software, especially excel and PowerPoint. Experience in data analysis tools (Tableau, SQL, etc) preferred.

  • Academic degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting; can demonstrate very strong quantitative/analytical ability (Top 10% performance/rank in class).

  • Strong (demonstrated) interest in and affinity with investment management and social sector through classwork, internships or on personal time.
