Acre is partnering with a high performing start-up who are at the forefront of innovations in Impact Measurement and Sustainable Investing. Backed by over $1Tn in AUM, the firm helps investors measure and optimise the environmental and social impact of their portfolios. The company is on a mission to revolutionise the way the world invests, helping to redirect capital to ensure positive ESG impact is being generated.

The company is looking for a data specialist to play a pivotal role in helping to build and maintain their comprehensive database of ESG performance. This person will also engage directly with the firm's clients, leveraging their data expertise to ensure that the firm's products are being fully utlised and maximum benefit is being obtained.

Key responsibilities:

  • Quality assurance of social and environmental performance data using the firm's validation technology which is supported by AI and machine learning capabilities. Utilising statistical sampling methods to measure and improve data quality.

  • Assisting the company's third-party data collection partner by providing ad-hoc support and troubleshooting.

  • Capturing information and signals from a variety of new sources which can help to build out the firm's proprietary knowledge base as they continue to grow their data sets.

  • Assisting with training and improving data extraction techniques as well as future AI/machine learning methodology.

  • Analysis of the firm's database to assess coverage, data completeness, trend analysis and competitor benchmarking.

Requirements:

  • Degree level educated in a relevant subject (e.g. sustainability, data analysis, statistical modelling)

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in data analysis/support in an investment, research or banking environment and/or in environmental or social performance and measurement

  • Expert user of Excel (pivot tables and advanced functions e.g. nested if statements)

  • Prior experience working with SQL would be advantageous but is not essential

  • A keen interest in ESG and impact investing and a desire to join a fast-growing start-up
