Impact Investment Director

.​This a new position with an impact focused fund based in Amsterdam seeking to deploy circa €100m in private equity transactions focused at European mid-market companies. The investment director will manage all elements of the the investment process, autonomously running their own deal team with support of junior analysts as required.

The fund is sector agnostic with a mandate to opportunistically invest in companies that show the potential to deliver a scalable, net positive impact as a result of their core business model.

Key Responsibilities for the role:

• Generate sound investment themes that guide the deal origination efforts

• Developing relationships across Europe to ensure that the fund is closely aligned sustainability driven innovations can then lead to investment opportunities

• Investment screening based on a combination of hard coded rules and more directional non-prescriptive guidelines both from the commercial and impact mandates

• Develop investment thesis and identify risks based on sound investment judgement.

• Provide thought leadership to deal team, with in-depth focus on key value drivers.

• Manage the execution process in an effective and efficient way

• Post investment management (taking on board positions/value creation).

• Bring insights to the Board and senior management team that are critical to the business performance improvement

Experiences Sought:

• Demonstrable experience of originating, negotiating and closing transactions in either investment banking or private equity environments ideally buy out / growth equity experience, not VC stage.

• Investment full lifecycle work experience in mature capital markets -with accompanying deal sheet

• Managing the investment process and all required work streams from at least 5 portfolio companies/transactions

• Entrepreneurial mindset, able to thrive in a dynamic environment with many moving parts, and able to both focus on both the detail and the bigger picture

• Experience with multiple business models, financial modelling, due diligence processes, technology trends
