Acre are supporting a Nairobi based Impact Investor that addresses key continental challenges including education, health, nutrition, sanitation access to energy and clean technology identify an Investment Director in a newly created position. In this role you will lead the team to originate and vet new investment opportunities across East and Southern Africa, help manage the existing portfolio of investments and support in the raising of a new fund. With an impressive on the ground network of advisors, entrepreneurs and in-industry experts, this individual will benefit from having a team that puts value creation at the core of their investment strategy.

Role and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will contribute to the whole deal cycle of private equity

Financing:

  • Tracking potential investment opportunities in different African markets, across different sectors, and building relationships with the founders, entrepreneurs, senior management teams and investors in such pipeline companies

  • Performing and overseeing extensive analysis using sound investment

  • techniques, financial modelling, stress testing and IRR evaluation of proposed

  • investments to determine their sound fundamentals and appropriateness for the

  • Fund's investment strategy.

  • Directing value creation teams on a case by case basis across the portfolio

  • Contributing to the investment decision-making process, drafting investment

  • memoranda and proposals for review by the Fund's partners and decision

  • making bodies.

Qualifications, experience, and skills:

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree with at least 6 years of experience in Private Equity in Africa

  • Strong financial analysis, modelling and valuation experience.

  • Transaction experience in East Africa's principal investment environment is a must. Please be prepared to supply a deal sheet.

  • Prior experience preparing and delivering presentations to management and peers.

  • Strong commercial and strategic analysis skills

  • Impeccable writing and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work through large amounts of information and distil key points into coherent and well written investment memos
