Investor Relations Director, Impact | Based in London or New York

Acre is looking for a strong Investor Relations Director to work with a leading impact advisory firm operating in over 90 countries, and helping their clients to formulate strategies, build partnerships, and implement programmes that have a lasting social and financial impact.

Your clients would be mission-driven companies and fund managers across the world, with the majority based in or focused on emerging markets, and in a wide array of sectors of the impact economy.

​

We are hoping to source an experienced fund placement professional to build a team and establish a successful business.

​

The role can be based in either London or New York.

​

Key responsibilities:

​

Business development:

​

• Develop the firm's Fund Placement strategy

• Support fundraising activities, as well as build new relationships and maintain existing relationships with investors for the business

• Build on the firm's strong reputation and networks in the impact investing market, their track record and their dedicated team of impact investment banking professionals

• Establish and maintain relationships across the industry

• Identify and act on business opportunities

• Oversee the preparation of marketing materials, proposals/pitch documents

• Lead the preparation of proposals

Mandate execution & project management:

​

• Primary responsibility for client relationships and service delivery

• Lead the preparation of client deliverables

• Provide oversight to project managers through project execution

​

Practice building & management support:

​

• Overall management of the business, including in areas of strategy development, attracting and fostering talent and the development of best practices

• Support the raising of the firm's profile through written thought pieces and public speaking

• Recruit, manage and guide more junior colleagues

​

Key requirements:

​

• Demonstrable leadership of a team in investor relations either in-house with a fund manager, at a placement agency or in a similar environment such as investment banking, private equity, or venture capital

• Require a proven track record of successfully raising capital from institutional investors or family offices and a deep investor network across the UK and Europe

• Preference for someone that understands emerging markets

• Demonstrated commitment and value alignment to the business and to impact investing

• Strong written, communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate strategy and discuss broader market trends

• Demonstrated relationship-building skills, able to confidently manage relationships with senior professionals internally and externally

• Proven track record of successfully reporting quarterly results, leading/project managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines and multitasking with ease

• Level of gravitas and credibility to successfully build a team
