Plastic Oceans UK (PO) have been experts on plastic pollution for a decade, starting with their award-winning documentary A Plastic Ocean, which has been named by Sir David Attenborough as "one of the most important films of our time" and has ignited mass public awareness.

Now is the time to solve the crisis and change practices as a society. PO's innovative tools and programmes empower multiple audiences to transform their relationship with plastics, committing to long-lasting change.

PO is going through an exciting strategic transition and is working in partnership with Acre to hire a Marketing & Campaigns Executive to join their fast-growing team. You will be a passionate and intuitive communicator and storyteller with a keen eye for detail, looking to make your mark in a creative communications role with real social purpose and capacity for growth. You are someone who thrives in a collaborative, supportive and dynamic team and keen to use your knowledge of the latest tech and trends to release the creative potential of this generation of ocean ambassadors.

You will work closely with the Head of Comms and Engagement and other key team members to:

  • Manage multiple social media channels, creating and maximizing cutting edge content

  • Gather and interpret key data to navigate and shape key communications strategies that help build a loyal and engaged community

  • Support the delivery of various digital and activation campaigns, from youth engagement to behaviour change and engagement with corporate partners

  • Deliver a variety of online marketing using your knowledge of social media scheduling, newsletter creation, website content management systems, project management and analytics

  • Manage and support the continued development of new online website platform, both updating its functionality as well as managing content and building the user database.

You will have:

  • An entrepreneurial style, able to adapt to manage multiple projects and bring fresh ideas and solutions to PO

  • The ability to work independently as well as in teams demonstrating a strong work ethic and integrity

  • A balance of creative flair and an analytical approach to communications, able to monitor and evaluate the most effective ways to engage a range of audiences

  • Strong awareness of external digital trends, willingness to innovate, and the ability to generate new ideas and bring them to fruition

  • A passion for digital storytelling to engage new audiences in social change

  • An understanding of digital inclusion and accessibility
