We are currently working with a highly innovative $300+ million fund investing in best-in-class emerging and developing fund managers focused on compelling scalable strategies in the hard-to-decarbonise areas of the economy, while delivering great risk-adjusted returns to investors. The fund will provide GP funding and LP cornerstone capital taking active strategic positions.

Our client is searching for an experienced private market fund manager selector to join their climate transition focused fund of funds and anticipated co-investment fund. This individual will work with the fund's hugely successful and well-known leader to conceptualise, raise and deploy the fund.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sourcing and due diligence of climate technology-focused private equity funds, including venture capital and growth equity funds, for consideration as part of our fund of funds.

  • Present investment opportunities to the Investment Committee through written and oral presentations.

  • Coordinate the execution of investments, including working closely with internal (e.g., internal executive committee members) and external parties (e.g., private equity managers).

  • Monitor the performance and risk profile of existing investments.

  • Perform industry research to support sourcing, diligence and investment monitoring.

  • Provide portfolio updates and present investment views to the fund's stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Fund manager selection experience with a demonstrable track record of at least 10 years.

  • Significant LP cornerstone and GP stake investing experience in fund managers focused on the private markets space.

  • Sound, structuring, negotiation, numerical and analytical skills for the purpose of assessing fund managers investment opportunities.

  • Strong process, presentation, communication and writing skills enabling the candidate to make robust recommendations to the Investment Committee.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a global team. Demonstrated relationship building skills, able to confidently manage relationships with senior professionals internally and externally.

  • Demonstrated capability for independent judgment is critical; ability to independently plan, organize and prioritize work and adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Willing and able to travel to meet potential and existing investors (post Covid travel restrictions)

  • Genuine and demonstrated commitment to impact investing and the values of the firm. Experience investing climate/impact related funds a major plus.
