Would you be interested in joining one of the world's most committed responsible investors?

A new, rare opportunity has come up to lead our client's private markets investing into nature based solutions (NBS) products on their NBS investment platform. This will be a highly innovative investment vehicle focused on applying a fundamental, science-based approach to creating value for investors and society through investing in nature capital.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Sourcing, receiving and analysing NBS opportunities, including peatland restoration projects, blue carbon opportunities, woodland restoration, saltmarsh and biodiversity net gain (BNG) projects

  • The economics of peatland restoration projects, including estimates of sub-contractor costs and ongoing site management, and the financial appraisal of peatland restoration plans and familiarity with the processes required to prepare peatland restoration plans

  • Sourcing, identifying and evaluating sites appropriate for woodland creation

  • Investment management and investment data analysis support to meet client requests

  • Supporting the expansion of the NBS asset class as part of the broader private markets team

Experience required:

  • An investment manager with 5+ years of experience managing NBS projects, or an NBS project developer with equivalent demonstrable experience of sourcing, underwriting and managing NBS assets

  • Familiarity with DEFRA's BNG 3.0 calculator

  • Experience in the preparation of habitat creation plans and the economics of habitat creation for the purposes of creating BNG units is a plus

  • Familiarity with other nascent NBS markets, including saltmarsh restoration, wetland restoration, or blue carbon markets is a plus

  • Experience of working as part of a small team with a very varied workload
