We are currently working with a highly innovative $300+ million fund investing in best-in-class emerging and developing fund managers focused on compelling scalable strategies in the hard-to-decarbonise areas of the economy, while delivering great risk-adjusted returns to investors. The fund will provide GP funding and LP cornerstone capital taking active strategic positions. Our client is searching for an experienced COO/Director to establish internal operations as well as offering advisory services to the GPs the fund invests in.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage portfolio of fund managers for value, providing advisory services around fund set up, finance, legal, compliance, human resources, data management, investor reporting and communication.

  • Lead the fund set-up effort for the fund including the establishment of all financial, compliance, human resources and data systems, with support from central resources.

  • Lead entity formation, legal documentation and structuring effort.

  • Create and manage reporting processes and systems.

Requirements:

  • Over 12 -15 years' experience establishing funds and fund platforms from scratch.

  • Operator, background in running operating within a fund management business. Turn-around or growth/driving value creation major plus.

  • Mentorship mindset, gets value from helping others succeed

  • Experience in best practises for fund management operations as well as growth focused skills such as Process Redesign, Growth Strategies, Cost Benchmarking/Reduction, etc.

  • Experience sitting on Boards

  • Experience in Climate and/or impact investing a major plus

  • Able to manage multiple supplier relationships

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a global team. Demonstrated relationship building skills, able to confidently manage relationships with senior professionals internally and externally

  • Ability to perform in a start-up environment with a problem-solving and solutions-oriented mindset. Takes ownership for outcomes, a self-starter, and is personally accountable for results

  • Willing and able to travel to meet potential and existing investors (post Covid travel restrictions)

  • Demonstrated commitment to impact investing and the values of the firm.
