Job Description

The Partner/Principal Investor will work with a close-knit and collaborative team to deliver a pipeline of potential investments, transaction due diligence, valuation analysis, the negotiating of contracts and ongoing management of value creation and impact delivery at portfolio companies. They will work closely with the advisory board and have extensive interaction with management teams, external advisors, investors and the firms' growing network of mission-driven businesses.

As part of the core team they will also contribute to the development of a purposeful and inclusive investment firm, with all elements of team culture and working practices to be supportive, forward-thinking and aligned to its mission.

Responsibilities include:

  • Origination of investments, carrying out initial investment appraisal and due diligence

  • The execution of investments; full responsibility for valuations, preparation of documents, negotiation and management of advisors

  • Portfolio management, working with the investee companies to drive the achievement of financial goals as well as social and environmental goals

  • Acting as a thought-leader for this innovative approach to impact investing at scale

  • Designing and raising capital for additional funds

Our client hires colleagues who are highly motivated and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavours. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, the successful candidate should have:

  • A demonstrable investment track record leading on deals with a minimum return of 2x cash-on-cash, over career-to-date

  • The ability to originate and bring business and talent to the firm

  • A combination of mainstream PE investment experience and a passion to work with companies that help transition the economy towards a more sustainable future

  • Warm interpersonal skills with the natural empathy and humility to help build a community of like-minded businesses and managers.
