Under the guidance of new CEO, Simon McCalla, a renewed Senior Leadership Team is 18 months into delivering a new 5-year strategy that will see Sedex go from influencing 33 million people, to 150 million by 2025.

As part of Sedex's growth, the organisation is developing an audit quality programme to further enhance its flagship SMETA audit offering.

The Audit Quality Programme was launched in 2020, with the objective of raising the quality of SMETA audits, improving the detection and reporting of onsite issues and ensuring consistency of auditing techniques amongst Sedex's pool of Affiliate Audit Companies.

This is an exciting time to join the team, driving high-quality auditing standards and embedding the Audit Quality Programme into business operations.

Your opportunity:

  • Partner with audit firms to develop mechanisms for monitoring their performance, working closely with their internal teams.

  • Develop a mechanism for monitoring and improving Affiliate Audit Companies performance against set KPI's.

  • Evolve and support the execution of sanctions in line with agreed policy and provide strategic reviews.

  • Build a process to monitor the performance of audit companies and execution in collaboration with internal teams and key stakeholders.

  • Monitor and supervise the execution of AQP on site activities (Management Audits and Shadow Audits) and report the outcomes to key stakeholders.

  • Participate in the development of the strategy to evolve the programme.

  • Implement and manage key internal and external stakeholders to provide business insights on gaps, low performance, corrective action plan and preventive actions.

  • Communicate trends, in risk and control issues to management on the results on the ongoing reviews.

  • Collaborate with the Responsible sourcing team and SMETA product manager to feed the AQP programme findings into the development of SMETA and other Sedex Products.

  • Progress the auditor e-learning content, part of the Auditor Academy training programme.

You will have:

  • Strong knowledge of auditing methodologies, creating and managing Risk Management Programs, such as Amfori, RBA, ITC and SMETA.

  • The ability to work collaboratively, with the experience of working on Social Compliance Audits, from multiple perspectives.

  • In-depth, practical experience of conducting audits, providing the best possible service when dealing with a range of external stakeholders.

  • Experience in the embedding of a Responsible Sourcing Programme, utilising your project management and data analysis skills.

  • A clear understanding of beyond audit and continuous improvement, with the expertise to offer ongoing solutions to key stakeholders.
