Alupro is an industry-funded, not-for-profit organisation with over thirty years of experience representing the UK's aluminium industry. We're searching for a Public Affairs & Sustainability Manager to join the team.

Alupro acts as the voice of the industry on issues of government policy and legislative development and impacts; their members comprising of the full spectrum of the aluminium packaging loop including Ball Packaging, Red Bull and Novelis.

In this role, you will work closely with the General Manager, leading Alupro's programme engagement with government at UK regional level across several key workstreams.

In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • Further developing Alupro's suite of programmes that support local authorities, including the Foil programme and MetalMatters

  • Building engagement with stakeholders in the corporate space, such as the FMCG and Retail sectors and their trade associations

  • You will have the responsibility to identify, develop, scope out and cost new potential programmes

  • Participating in Forums such as European Aluminium and Metal Packaging Europe

  • Representing Alupro at events such as webinars, round tables and conferences

You will demonstrate:

  • A natural ability to influence decision making and strategic direction at all levels with members and other third-party stakeholders

  • A background in sustainability with an interest in policy/public affairs, paired with great communication and engagement skills

  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously underpinned with a track record of impactful programme management

  • Relevant knowledge of the packaging, retail or manufacturing sector would be desirable
