An extremely established and well-known Financial Services organisation is currently looking for a critical hire within their global compliance team. This is a fixed term contract for initially until 31st December, with potential room for extension or longer-term options.

As the Senior Compliance Manager - ESG, you will play a key role in a global compliance team, who's mandate is to deliver compliance programs for a specific indices division that is fit-for-purpose and highly effective.

The role involves a range of activities, including providing: (i) Compliance advisory services, (ii) education & training, (iii) reporting to compliance management on compliance developments, and (iv) participating in reviews, investigations, and other compliance monitoring / ad hoc activities, primarily focused on the Division's work in ESG, Sustainability and Innovation.

Besides technical and regulatory knowledge, experience in the operation of Compliance programs, the ideal candidate should have strong critical skills, be focused on execution, be a collaborative team player.

This role will report directly to the Head of Compliance for the firm.

Responsibilities:

You will assist the Head of Compliance for the organisation in supporting the Division's work on ESG and Innovation products (the Covered Area) and developing the compliance program fit-for- the evolution of these the themes:

  • Developing Compliance proposition and mission in the Covered Area

  • Identifying and assessing key compliance risks for the Covered Area

  • Develop/design/execute appropriate controls, mitigation measures, monitoring reviews (e.g. if a monitoring test is developed - to run the test for effectiveness)

  • Building an efficient process to support knowledge sharing, regulatory horizon scanning, including regular reporting to Head of Compliance on regulatory and compliance developments

  • Design adequate policies to address emerging compliance risks and regulatory requirements in the field of Covered Area

  • Contributing to compliance reporting and developing metrics for CMTs (compliance monitoring, boards etc.

  • Providing substantive support that require specialist knowledge in the Covered Area through advisory work, education & training, including assessing relevant compliance training for the business

  • Support projects on ESG and Innovation themes, including assessment of dealing with new regulations, mapping and managing related compliance risks

  • Contribute as a specialist in the Covered Area in projects with multidisciplinary teams i.e. regulatory ESG disclosures

  • Work directly with the internal teams that know the ins and outs of sustainability and innovation

Skills and experience required:

· Comparable compliance experience

  • · Experience understanding new regulation and implementing ESG related programs or regulation

  • · Unwavering ethics and integrity, and an ability to stand firm on issues with independence

  • · Strong interpersonal and strong team skills, with a collaborative and learning mindset

  • · Excellent presentation skills and ability to provide compliance training to all levels

  • · Self-motivated and well-organized; able to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure; able to stay abreast of changing regulatory rules and procedures in a developing industry

  • · Ability to maintain a global perspective and work with diverse colleagues across various jurisdictions.

This role can be based from either London, Paris, Dublin, Madrid or Milan. The company offers a flexible working policy of 2 days in the office per week.
