Acre is supporting a large clothing, cosmetics, and home products retailer to add capacity to their regional ethical trade teams. This role is home-based in Spain, working in close collaboration with regional teams and part of a wider, global structure.
This opportunity is wide-reaching, with the purpose of providing regional insight to the overall global sustainability strategy and maintaining high standards at a local level. You will be contributing to the improvement and development of the ethical trading strategy, maximising its efficiency, and driving forward solutions.
Through close collaboration with regional representatives and solutions leads, you will be part of a wider team, responsible for developing the company's sustainability strategy, which also includes environmental management.
Key responsibilities include:
Taking responsibility for the ongoing audits programme, which includes rating, reviewing and delivery of results to the appropriate audiences
Provide remediation support to the suppliers, in accordance with the regional team's plans
Being a key point of contact and relationship manager of various third parties. These will include audit companies and service providers, whose progress and updates you will monitor and manage
Internally representing the ethical trade team and presenting performance and updates to the business
You will leverage the following:
Working knowledge of European social compliance issues and risks
Understanding of environmental risks within Europe
Proven experience of conducting and managing audit programmes in Europe
Understanding of key stakeholders, such as government, trade unions and NGOs
Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese
Ability to travel frequently
Quick judgement and ability to seek further opportunities for improvement
