FORMIA, a leader in inflight amenities, is looking for a Senior Manager/Director of Sustainability to ensure that sustainability is woven into the fabric of the company.

As Senior Manager/Director of Sustainability, you will work closely with the Sustainability Lead, the wider FORMIA team, and external partners to steer the execution of our Sustainability Strategy. You will also lead the local HK Sustainability team, support airline projects and tenders with sustainability know-how, and identify and evaluate pilot projects or programs to enhance our sustainability agenda. With your strong leadership and strategic thinking skills, you will make sustainability a priority and inspire people into action.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the further development and implementation of the sustainability strategy and targets for FORMIA, leading the local HK team and identifying pilot projects to enhance sustainability initiatives.

  • Driving and auditing the company's sustainability performance, and communicate progress internally and externally through annual sustainability reports and effective marketing communication.

  • Ensuring custome tender propositions include the best possible sustainable solutions (products + services)

  • Stay updated on sustainability trends, innovations, and regulations affecting the company's products and services.

  • Lead sustainability projects related to the execution of our targets, such as GHG assessments, Life Cycle Assessments, Circularity, and data collection process enhancements.

  • Owner of the Annual Sustainability Report

  • Owner of the Greenhouse Gas Report, and project leader of emission reductions for our path to Net Zero.

  • Define FORMIA wide staff training needs, develop and execute training programs accordingly.

  • Research and recommend certification programs

  • Research and update our Landscape Analysis

  • Manage the operational sustainability partners . and make recommendations for new partnerships.

  • Act as deputy for the Sustainability Lead.

A day in the life: what you'll do

You will report directly to the Sustainability Lead and be responsible for leading a small team of a Sustainability Manager and a part-time Sustainability Coordinator. The Senior Manager will lead the execution of FORMIA's Sustainability Strategy, ensure targets are met and well understood by the entire team, and effectively communicate sustainability performance both internally and externally. Ultimately, the Senior Manager will ensure that sustainability is integrated into FORMIA's culture.

  • Lead the sustainability team and drive the wider FORMIA team to implement our sustainability agenda / execute our targets.

  • Develop additional innovative strategies to further our purpose. Run internal workshops and devise action plans needed to achieve our goals.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental or governmental regulations and review sustainability program objectives, progress, or status.

  • Prepare sustainability-related messages for marketing, run recurring sustainability training for internal staff, and research and develop a concept for more sustainable offices.

  • Participate in global industry events, or relevant sustainability events as required .

If you're passionate about sustainability and meet the following qualifications, we encourage you to apply:

  • 8+ years of work experience with 3+ years in leadership roles, preferably in a similar position in sustainability, travel/airline, consumer/luxury goods, skincare, or sustainability consulting/environmental assessments.

  • Strong leadership skills with strategic thinking and analytical skills.

  • Solution oriented, pragmatic approach, flexible.

  • Ability to influence at all levels and functions to make sustainability a priority and inspire people into action.

  • Be a highly approachable leader, able to mobilize resources as needed, educate, persuade and bring people along on the journey.

  • Bachelors in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or Business Administration

  • Continuing education in sustainability, environmental standards, and/or circularity.

  • Experience working and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across cultures and geographies.

  • Fluent in English, both orally and in writing. Mandarin and/or Cantonese speaking desirable, but not a must.

  • Must be willing and able to travel as required.

  • Ability and willingness to travel.
