Acre is honoured to be supporting a leading UN-backed global non-profit foundation for nutrition and food-systems to help them hire a Senior Partnerships and SME Engagement Lead. The foundation works with businesses and governments to improve nutrition for millions of people at the bottom of the pyramid and has led multilateral programmes to improve nutrition for more than 20 years.
The Senior Partnerships and SME Engagement Lead will play a key role in further strengthening the Small and Medium Enterprise network for the foundation and will help these businesses scale profitably, while also increasing the reach and impact of the various programmes run by the foundation. This person will also be overseeing a $50m fund for SMEs operating in the food and nutrition value chain in emerging markets.
This role is flexible across London, Netherlands, Kenya, Nigeria and Ethiopia.
The successful candidate:
Reporting into the Global Director of Programmes, this position will work closely with the Programme Leads and Project Teams, Country Heads and other functions, and will be responsible for:
Providing strategic leadership and managerial support to the country and programme offices including business planning, technical guidance and project design
Building a solid network with local SMEs in the food and agri value chain in emerging economies, particularly Africa, to become a partner of choice
Raise new funding for the programs and promote the foundation's reputation with donors
Provide guidance to the country teams on strategy, state of the field, and positioning of the foundation
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Experience in working very closely with small and medium enterprises in emerging markets, preferably Africa, to help them scale profitably
Experience with programmes that provide technical and financial support to private-sector companies
Experience in negotiating with governments in emerging markets and strategic donors
Successful track record of designing and managing multi-million-dollar, donor-funded projects, and a strong track record in resource mobilisation
Flexibility to travel across Africa, with base location in any of the country offices
