To lead the Company's RI strategy on the Environment and Climate Change in relation to our client's investment activities. In addition, to carry out Corporate Governance and RI research to maintain and promote their position as a leading Responsible & Sustainable Investment specialist. Within the role, you will also be executing on Corporate Governance and RI frameworks, including researching and screening financial instruments and companies; proactively developing 'thought leadership' in these areas and participating in business development opportunities to promote them.

Key Responsibilities:

Environment & Climate Change Lead

  • To be the Environment and Climate Change lead within the RI Team and develop thinking, research and strategy on environmental and climate change issues as they pertain to responsible investment

  • To be the lead for equity Fund carbon footprinting and reporting in support of Montréal Pledge obligations

Client Relationship & Marketing

  • RI lead for key institutional client relationships, work closely with sales team to support client queries, quarterly reporting, client calls and marketing the fund to new prospects through pitches and act as an ambassador to promote brand and position as a leading responsible and sustainable investment specialist

Managing Key Relationships

  • First point of contact for PRI and lead for annual PRI Reporting and Assessment

  • First point of contact for ESG data provider ISS

  • Manage other relationships including CDP and IIGCC

Research & Engagement

  • To carry out detailed analytical research and RI screening on companies and financial instruments to inform thinking and decision making on investments for the funds

  • Instigate and assist on engagement initiatives

  • Develop 'thought leadership' within the areas of Corporate Governance and RI, producing associated research and publications to inform and advise the investment team, clients and to assist with wider business development

Corporate Governance

  • Act as deputy corporate governance officer and participate in the execution of their Corporate Governance policies and frameworks, to include active participation on matters such as: Voting; Board Composition; Remuneration, Accountability

Requirements

  • Experience as SRI Analyst within investment management

  • Expertise / Lead experience in Environmental / Climate strategies / Frameworks

  • Strong report writing

  • Ability to assess and interpret complex financial information

  • High level communication and presentation skills;

  • Analytical and evaluation skills

  • Research and quantitative analysis skills

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Understanding of financial markets; financial instruments and reporting
