Acre is pleased to be partnering with a leading investment company, operating in the retail space. The company's portfolio is comprised of high-end outlet centres across Europe and they are looking at growing further through future acquisitions.

We are supporting them with the search for a Sustainability Director - the successful applicant will build the function and shape the organisation's future operations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building a new sustainability department to deliver across strategy, certification and the organisation's "net-positive" commitments

  • Representing the business externally and raising the organisation's sustainability profile through relevant industry fora and stakeholder engagement

  • Create a compelling narrative on the benefits of sustainability for the entire organisation

  • Sustainability reporting and disclosure, managing key external relationships with investors and external parties

  • Horizon scanning for new policy and trends, driving and championing thought leadership on sustainability with key internal stakeholders

  • Shape the organisation's environmental vision and create an ambitious sustainability strategy which underpins their future portfolio growth plans.

You will have:

  • A demonstrable track record in delivering effective sustainability strategy within a corporate and commercial environment

  • The analytical skills to develop and monitor the roadmap and KPIs to ensure goals are achieved

  • The ability to build relationships and engage with a variety of teams and stakeholders

  • Desirable: A good knowledge of the real estate / property industry (experience of BREEAM and GRESB would be ideal)
