Are you a Sustainability Fabric Specialist that loves to work collaboratively and cross-functionally? Do you want the opportunity to work in a fast-paced global retail environment, knowing the decisions you make will influence the product range across the business?

Reporting into the Head of Product Sustainability, this role will focus on core volume fabrics and yarns, in line with company sustainability protocols. You will work closely with the environmental sustainability team, Quality team, Sourcing team, Design, Buying and Merchandising and have great exposure to external supply base partners.

The business has a clear strategy to include a greater number of recycled fibres within their products by 2025 and this role will form a key lead in developing this even further.

Your opportunity:

  • Using research and industry insight to lead on critical sustainability topics, being a trusted advisor on raw materials and supply chain.

  • Developing and advancing key external relationships with supply base partners, spinning mills and sustainable fibre producers.

  • Creating sustainable fabric tech packs, creating clarity & consistency in fabric qualities, cost, yarn content and fabric construction to advise a wide variety of teams across the business.

  • Producing a company fabric library, working with the quality and product sustainability team to showcase the options available to the business

  • Negotiating on raw materials, using strong commercial acumen to achieve the best possible price point for the company.

  • Ensuring that sustainability and environmental goals are met by certifying that fabric mills are adhering to sustainability and environmental goals, in-line with business standards.

  • Attending Fabric Fairs, exhibitions and traveling to manufacturing sites, keeping abreast with industry insight, with a key focus on recycled materials.

You will have:

  • In-depth knowledge and expertise within raw material sourcing, supply chain and fabric technology, with a particular proficiency in recyclable materials.

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, non-hierarchical structure and familiarity with how a large retailer operates.

  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to present complex technical information in a more simplified format.

  • An analytical and technical mindset, with proven experience of evaluating supply chain data and the technical knowledge of how fabrics are constructed.

  • The gravitas to pull together suppliers into collaborative groups, inspiring partnerships and industry-wide networking.

  • Passion, knowledge and interest in sustainability, identifying new topics and insight to report back to the wider business.
