Silbury is a leading food ingredients supplier with more than 35 years of experience supplying food manufacturers, major retailers, and high street chains across the UK, Ireland, and throughout Europe.

In a phase of growth, an opportunity has arisen to join the Silbury team as a Sustainability and Resilience Manager. You will offer your expertise and knowledge to successfully manage sustainability within the company supply chain and collaborate with all stakeholders to ensure Silbury maintains its benchmark position within the industry.

You will also have the opportunity to:

  • Be the "go-to" sustainability expert for the organisation and coordinate projects within this domain across the business.

  • Work directly with the leadership team in developing sustainability initiatives.

  • Develop an end-to-end journey of the ingredients supply chain from sourcing to manufacturing, with a focus on sustainability and responsible sourcing.

  • Collaborate closely with key suppliers and supply chain partners to ensure the success of your sustainability initiatives.

  • Reporting to the Marketing Manager and working closely with the Quality department as well as the commercial sales team to align projects and support the sustainability requirements of their customers.

  • Lead the quarterly and annual reporting and analysis of key sustainability goals.

With a turnover of circa £70m, Silbury is close-knit, transparent, and highly collaborative, with sustainability at the heart of the business. All Silbury's suppliers meet the requirements in terms of ethical, social, and environmental standards they adhere to, and they actively look for suppliers with strong corporate and social responsibility programmes.

As a sustainability professional, you will already have:

  • A passion for and knowledge of sustainability within the food industry.

  • The ability to collaborate with all stakeholders across a business supply chain.

  • An understanding of regulated environmental and compliance needs as well as sound commercial awareness.

  • Degree level or equivalent education within sustainability or environmental management.

Confident that you can add value but not 100% sure you 'tick every box'? There is no such thing as the perfect candidate. Silbury prides itself on growing the team with diverse professionals. So, however, you identify, and whatever experience you have, please apply if this is a role that excites you.
