Acre are delighted to be supporting a global top tier bank to identify a Sustainability Manager to lead their efforts in evolving their efforts to increase levels of financial inclusion among other key sustainability issues across their customer base. In this newly created role in the CEO's office, this individual will deliver a mandate with board support and will be expected to draw upon existing resources across the bank's vast sustainability network.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work with the Head of Sustainability & CSR to develop and deliver our sustainability strategy, supporting the bank's purpose to help people and businesses prosper

  • Contribute to evolving the Sustainability agenda and deliver high quality, high impact activities that contribute toward the banks ambitious targets

  • Lead all aspects of the strategy around financial inclusion; setting and driving the strategy, metrics, liaising with external organisations and coordinating different stakeholders. Prepare and deliver progress reports for senior stakeholders including board- level committees

  • Evaluate the impact of customer Sustainability initiatives, using best practice impact assessment tools and methodologies to effectively demonstrate how we are contributing to strategic targets.

As a core theme in the pillars of the bank's sustainability strategy, the successful candidate will ensure that disenfranchised communities, the elderly and other minority groups are able to engage with their finance provider and maximise the impact their finances can have on their lives. This is a highly impactful role in a bank that is constantly evolving their efforts to make customer experience unsurpassed by competitors.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in having delivered financial inclusion programmes/ projects withing a financial institution or as a consultant

  • A track record in leveraging cutting-edge, innovative, digital technology to enable reporting.

  • An understanding of socio-economic/impact assessment methodologies.

  • experience in sustainability and CSR/ESG including experience of managing companywide initiatives and sustainability programmes within FS or large corporate organisations

  • Strong interpersonal skills - persuades and influences others, using a range of approaches, to achieve deliverables.
