Are you an experienced sustainability professional, motivated by seeing the impact of your work play out? You're possibly in a large organisation now, with strong governance and commitment to ESG; working with leadership to operationalise sustainability, but maybe you're feeling ready for the next step; confident of your ability to create more impact and change than you are now?

Perhaps you're also looking to be a part of a business in the early stages of their ambitious sustainability journey, but one that puts people and the planet at the core of what they do?

If this sounds like you, then we have the perfect role for you.

IVC Evidensia is looking for a Sustainability Manager to join their business. Reporting to the Group's Director of Sustainability and ESG, you will lead the development and implementation of the Planet pillar across the business, providing technical environmental expertise as appropriate.

You will be:

  • Leading the development of IVC Evidensia's carbon strategy, including risk assessment, improving data collection systems, managing the trial and rollout of initiatives to reduce emissions and reporting of carbon data

  • Supporting country teams by providing specialist advice on environmental issues and helping them to build their knowledge

  • Support the trial and rollout of the Positive pawprint sustainability certification scheme across IVC Evidensia clinics

  • Supporting country teams, procurement and other parts of the group by providing specialist advice on environmental issues, driving environmental initiatives and helping them to build their knowledge and competence

IVC Evidensia is Europe's largest veterinary care provider, on a mission to bring people together to make animal care better by investing in people, premises and processes to deliver clinical excellence. Starting as an independent UK veterinary care company ten years ago, IVC Evidensia has grown through merger and organically, to become Europe's leading veterinary care provider.

Comprising an expansive network of clinics, hospitals and out-of-hour centres based across 17 countries, they are pioneers in developing people by investing in continuous professional development through education, defining best clinical standards and expanding their celebrated graduate academies.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience of environmental risk and impact assessment, and hands-on sustainability programme implementation, project execution and impact measurement

  • Experience of working in a large, global, multi-site organisation with high-risk supply chain sustainability considerations and an understanding of the nuances of global vs local, multi-cultural sustainability cross-collaborations

  • Experience of integrated or FTSE-level reporting and understanding of all major sustainability reporting frameworks such as CDP, TCFD's, GRI, SDG's

  • Strong working knowledge of technical sustainability, gained through relevant qualifications
