A top-tier global financial group that is committed to achieving net zero emissions is seeking a VP-level Sustainability Manager. Responsibilities include managing the formulation, execution, and communication of the firm's sustainability objectives, with a particular focus on financed emissions and net zero transition strategy. This role will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate, drive, and deliver against the firm's climate change objectives and targets. The VP of Sustainability will proactively manage and execute projects and deliverables in support of the firm's transition approach to a decarbonized society.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote coordination across infrastructure functions and business areas to operationalize the firm's sustainability strategy and priority environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives.

  • Develop an internal management framework for measuring and reporting financed emissions.

  • Support financed emissions data and governance

  • Form strong partnerships with relevant teams to develop credible methodologies, frameworks, and emissions pathways to support emissions reduction targets and the Firm's approach to net zero.

  • Support the development of sustainability policies, standards, and tools, including materials to support client engagement related to the Firm's transition strategy towards net zero.

  • Maintain all aspects of project deliverables and timelines, track progress and prepare regular status updates and management reports as requested.

  • Participate in industry forums and monitor industry trends for net zero, decarbonization, and transition, sharing knowledge, making the business case for sustainability, and highlighting external best practices.

  • Develop training materials for colleagues to disseminate Sustainability knowledge through the bank and support knowledge and capacity building.

  • Contribute to collaboration with other regions on sustainability and ESG topics.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of comparable or relevant experience. Experience in banking, the financial sector, or consulting is strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree a plus

  • Proven record of accomplishment in implementing sustainability strategies gained in either a major commercial or investment bank or a major international organization.

  • In-depth knowledge of ESG reporting and standards (e.g., CDP, GHG Protocol, PCAF), familiarity with frameworks such as (e.g. TCFD, NZBA, UN SDGs) and main ESG rating agencies.

  • Highly organized with strong project management skills, ability to navigate many stakeholders, manage simultaneous projects, overcome challenges, and drive to completion.

  • Outstanding communicator with excellent presentation skills, strong verbal and written skills, and keen attention to detail in report preparation for executive audiences.

  • Experience leading and facilitating group processes, strong influencing skills and collaboration, and maintaining positive relationships with all levels within the bank.
