Reporting to the Head of Sustainable Investment ("SI") Solutions, within the SI Research Team in the Information Services Division (ISD), the individual will be responsible for developing leading edge Sustainable Investment Fixed Income ("SIFI") solutions across the full range of fixed income asset classes. This will involve the development of new data, methodologies and thought leadership as well as developing compelling new SIFI products.

IP & Methodology Development

  • Developing methodologies to assess issuers across all fixed income asset classes (sovereigns, corporates, sub-sovereigns, agencies etc) across the range of sustainable investment categories (ESG, Climate, Exclusions, SDG etc).

  • Working closely with the Fixed Income & Multi-Asset Product team to create compelling new SIFI investment products (indices).

Data analysis

  • Acting as an SME with internal stakeholders to inform the development and refinement of data applicable to SIFI.

  • Identifying and analysing existing sustainable investment datasets for use within SIFI

Market & stakeholder engagement

  • Delivering incisive research & analysis around sustainability in fixed income including writing papers & blogs.

  • Delivering high calibre presentations and written reports tailored to multiple audiences at high-profile events.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills

The successful applicant will have a deeply analytical mind, with an acute eye for detail while at the same time being a confident communicator and effective project manager. It is expected that with limited supervision the candidate will be able to deliver all key aspects of the role identified above. The candidate will bring relevant work experience in sustainable and/or fixed income investment. Familiarity with the sustainable investment landscape in London or other financial centres is highly desirable.

  • A good understanding of economic, political, and financial issues linked to climate change, the low carbon transition and the sustainable investment landscape is required. Detailed knowledge on how sovereigns, corporates and other issuers manage and report on ESG issues is an asset.

  • A good understanding of the fixed income investment market is desirable.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential and experience in communicating with senior executives is desirable.

  • Project management experience, organizational and time management skills.
