Our client, is a leading financial service provider who have been prioritising sustainability as a part of their agenda for a number of years. More recently they have been rapidly expanding their green and sustainable financing activities by launching an ESG network to link investment to innovation and support entrepreneurs across climate.

In 2015, the business launched a network of businesses, partners, corporate investors, mentors, and banking experts to support start-ups and entrepreneurs, known as labs. The labs provide a wealth of support to start-ups, specifically focused on green technology and innovation. Alongside the labs, the business is launching a Sustainability Centre of Excellence that will act as the focal point for all sustainability activities across the business. This will also be used as a coworking space for the labs and to others in the network.

The client is dedicated to the recruitment of a new Vice President of Green tech & Sustainability to join their London Team.

Reporting into the Managing Director, you will be leading work on a number of key projects, with the view to deliver the very best expertise and capability to the next generation of green & sustainable businesses.

You will be responsible for building strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including green tech hubs to develop programmes, ideas, initiatives, events, and wider activity that can stimulate collaboration and innovation, as well as attract top entrepreneurial talent, for the green tech industry.

The ideal candidate will have previously worked with accelerators, incubators, or green tech groups. As well as, have strong sustainability knowledge and can manage relationships with large and high-profile clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To grow and maintain multiple relationships across the Green Tech industry and ecosystem.

  • Driving and identifying potential corporate, university start-up, investment, and educational partners to deliver a market leading connected community for Green Tech innovation.

  • By working to deliver on the "group" level agendas you will have a pivotal role in the business Net-Zero strategy.

  • You will be steering external awareness of the client's initiative with key influencers including national, local, and industry press as well as government and regulators.

In order to be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in the challenges businesses and society face to deliver on Net Zero pledges.

  • Proven ability to develop a proposition focused on driving commercial wins and facilitating innovation, and cultural change.

  • Excellent ability to confidently network and develop deep and lasting relationships across multiple stakeholders across different business functions as well as a multitude of external client audiences.
