Vice President - Product Engineering (CleanTech)

Acre has been engaged by a major name in the US clean-tech manufacturing sphere to recruit a Vice President of Product Engineering. Our client is pre-commercialization of their technology, which has been proven at pilot plant scale, and they are looking for an Engineering professional with experience in manufacturing scale-up to help get their product into sustained production.

This business has excellent financing from both the VC and corporate worlds and is right on the cusp of significant growth. Their technology will be hugely disruptive to the corner of the market they operate in and has been verified by independent third parties as being substantially more efficient than anything commercially available today.

The position is confidential, and the exact technology in play is immaterial to the experience we are seeking. This person's background could have come from the scale-up of any electromechanical system; what's important is that this person has worked on improving the design of novel technologies for volume manufacture, and this could, for example, have been in Automotive, Aerospace, Energy or Industrial Machinery.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• A history of product development, essentially working on novel technologies that were successfully scaled into production.

• As mentioned above, experience in Automotive, Aerospace, Energy or Industrial Machinery technologies would be most preferred, but any complex electromechanical machinery could be relevant.

• This person will most likely be an engineer by qualification and have worked in a hands-on product development capacity (hard tech) earlier in their career before progressing into management.

• Experience building and managing teams, ideally of more than ten people - the larger the better.
