Our client is a leading international financial services player seeking to hire a Vice President of ESG Risk for their Markets and Commodities business.
This is a globally diversified firm with one of the largest green investment portfolios and businesses across asset management, markets and banking, with the Markets and Commodities business as its most profitable business. Reporting into the Group Head of ESG risk, you will be leading ESG risk and opportunity management across all business lines.
You will be responsible for:
Enabling origination through the enhancement of the business risk management capabilities
Identifying, assessing and developing risk mitigation strategies for environmental and social risks that may impact a transaction or new business
Developing a structural ESR framework to ensure the consistent application of ESR policies and practices
Providing advice, support and education to the business on ESR issues as they continue to expand both geographically and the product suite
Effectively liaising between business and risk management teams, finding practical solutions to ESR issues
Supporting business teams in developing new ESG-related product offerings, including energy transition and decarbonisation needs for their clients
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Strong experience in ESG risk, ideally with a bank, institutional investor, or with a consulting firm advising similar companies
Commercial mindset and ability to drive outcomes, execution and change
Experience in conducting detailed transactional environmental and social due diligence
Experience with ESG-related products, carbon markets, and decarbonisation in a banking environment
This is an exciting new role with a global remit in which you will get exposure to the group's senior management while driving change across the business.
