Acre has been retained by a pioneering developer of alternate energy technology, set to revolutionize the global power grid. Our client has, over the last 10+ years, developed a Clean Energy solution that has been proven to work and has already seen massive commercial success with multiple GWs contracted for deployment globally and many more in late-stage negotiations, predominantly in North America and APAC. These projects are priced in the $Billions from a CAPEX perspective and will be highly visible, marquee projects that will be discussed across the industry at a national and international level.
This newly created role reporting directly to the C-Suite will immediately take on the leadership of the existing global Business Development team currently led by 3 executives at the Director and Senior Director levels. This person will be responsible for leading the market entry strategy for existing and new jurisdictions worldwide. This team will be responsible for developing detailed financial analyses and comprehensive research as to how our client can best position their technology - "which markets do we want to be in, why and how do we get there", considering local power market conditions, customer base, political forces etc.
Key Success Criteria:
Significant experience, likely 15+ years, operating within the Energy market in Business Development, Power Marketing or Business Strategy roles.
Experience with diverse clean energy solutions highly preferred but candidates who only have experience in conventional energy technologies will be considered.
Deep understanding of North American power markets is essential for this role as is proven experience structuring and negotiating offtake agreements (PPAs, VPPAs, leases) - This person will not be as much focused on front-end deal originating however, this person will be a key stakeholder and technical authority in all large deal transactions.
Experience in any international power market would be highly desirable but not essential.
Bachelor's Degree with advanced level qualification - MSc, MBA etc - preferred.
